What art belongs on a TCG card?
Your kid's drawing
The monster under the bed, the dragon from art class, the superhero version of the family dog. Give it the HP your kid insists on (probably 999) and the abilities they describe.
A whole set of their creatures
If they draw a new creature every week, a Pack of 10 turns ten of them into a real set they can hold, trade, and keep.
Your own illustrations
Sketchbook creatures, digital paintings, character designs. A printed card is a small, finished way to hold your work.
Commissioned art
Art you commissioned of yourself, your pet, or your character, printed with stats and a signature move.
How to turn a drawing into a trading card
Get a good image of the art
Scan it, or photograph it flat in daylight with no shadows or glare. Use the largest file you have.
Pick the TCG style
Choose TCG in the creator. The art window is wider than it is tall, so leave a little room around the drawing.
Write the card with the artist
Let the kid name it, pick the element, and invent the two abilities. Their words on the card are the point.
Order it
One Display Card in a clear case ($29.99), or a Pack of 10 for a whole set ($49.99).
Naming help: attack name ideas · flavor text ideas · picking an HP number
What goes on a TCG card
Name, HP (up to 4 digits), a type line (36 characters), two optional abilities with a name (30), a description (110), and a damage number, plus flavor text (90 characters).
- Name and HP
- The card's name across the top, with HP on the right: up to 4 digits, or leave it blank and nothing prints.
- Element symbol
- One of 9 symbols (Fire, Water, Plant, Lightning, Wind, Magic, Neutral, Metal, and Earth), the one the card color suggests, or none. It always matches the card color.
- The art window
- Your photo, drawing, or illustration in a bordered frame. You zoom and position it in the preview.
- Type line and number
- A short type or class (36 characters), with the card's set number on the right.
- Two abilities
- Each one gets a name (30 characters), a description (110), and a damage number. Use one, both, or neither.
- Flavor text
- A last line at the bottom (90 characters): a quote, a date, an inside joke.
- The back
- Your own message, plus a QR code that opens the card's Living Card page with more photos and the story behind it.
Why kids love seeing their drawing as a card
A drawing on the fridge comes down eventually. A drawing on a card, sealed in a case, with the name and powers they made up, is something they keep. Write their age and the date in the flavor text and it becomes a keepsake of who they were when they drew it. More ideas for kids: custom trading cards for kids.

Frequently asked questions
How do I turn my kid's drawing into a trading card?+
Scan or photograph the drawing in even light, upload it to the TCG style in the Cardbop creator, and add a name, HP, an element, and up to two abilities. You preview the card before you pay. $29.99 for one Display Card and $49.99 for a 10-card Card Pack. Designing is free, and you can personalize one in minutes.
Do you redraw or change my art?+
Bring your own image: a photo, a drawing, or art you made or commissioned. We print it on the card as you upload it. We don't animate it or turn photos into anime.
What image works best?+
A flat, evenly lit scan or photo at the highest resolution you have. Crop out the table and background, and leave a little space around the drawing: the art window is wider than it is tall.
Can I use digital art or a commission?+
Yes. Upload a photo or art you made, commissioned, or have permission to use. We can't print characters from shows, games, or movies you don't own the rights to.
Can I draw a character from a show or game?+
Fan art of a show or game character can't be printed: those characters belong to their owners. Original creatures and characters, yours or your kid's, are exactly what this is for.
Can I make a set of cards from different drawings?+
Yes. A 10-card Card Pack holds 10 cards, each with its own art, name, HP, and abilities.
Is it a playable card?+
It is a personal collectible, not a playable game card: there are no rules, energy costs, or deck building, and it is not made for tournament play.
How much does it cost?+
$29.99 for one Display Card and $49.99 for a 10-card Card Pack. Designing is free, and you can personalize one in minutes.
