Ideas to use
Flavor text ideas: 70 lines for a custom card
Flavor text is the short line on a card that adds story or personality without changing what the card does. It sits below the abilities, usually in a smaller or italic style. On a custom card it's the most personal line: a date, a place, an inside joke, or a quote.

How do you write flavor text for a TCG card?
- Keep it to one line
- Short reads best. Cardbop's flavor-text line holds 90 characters.
- Add story, not stats
- Abilities already say what it does. Flavor text says who it is: a date, a place, a quote, a habit.
- Make it specific
- "Diablo Lake, Summer 2025" beats "Loves the lake." Names, places, and years make a card personal.
- Match the tone
- A funny card gets a dry one-liner. An epic creature gets something ominous. A keepsake gets something true.

Put it on a real card
A Cardbop TCG card is a custom trading card in a game-card layout: your photo or artwork in a bordered window, a name with HP and an element symbol, a type line, up to two abilities with damage, and flavor text. Add two attack names, an HP number, and your flavor line.
Frequently asked questions
What is flavor text?+
Flavor text is the short italic-style line on a card that adds story or personality but has no effect on how the card works. It's there for mood, humor, or lore.
What's the difference between flavor text and ability text?+
Ability text says what a card does, with a name and usually a damage number. Flavor text says who the character is: a quote, a place, a memory, or a joke.
How long should flavor text be?+
One short sentence, usually under 15 words. On a Cardbop TCG card the flavor-text line holds 90 characters.
What should flavor text say on a custom card of a person or pet?+
Something only people who know them would get: an inside joke, a date and place, a favorite saying, or a habit described like a legend.
Can I quote a movie, game, or song?+
Write your own. Quotes from movies, games, books, and songs belong to their owners, and your own line is more personal anyway.
How much does a custom TCG card cost?+
$29.99 for one Display Card and $49.99 for a 10-card Card Pack. Designing is free, and you can personalize one in minutes.
